I have been an athlete and coach in some form or another for as long as I can remember. Mainly because I have competed and cheered onand encouraged my friends since I was in primary school.
I was the natural coach. I competed myself in every sport possible and encouraged my friends oranyone who doubted themselves to believe in themselves and join in.
My neighbourhood friends were, mainly all boys and they were fit, fast and indestructible.. Consequently, I learned from a young age that the best way t o avoid being “picked on” was to give it a go and never show any sign of weakness.
